Our proposals on Economic and Social Policies:

 

# Pave the way for an agreement within the EU of a general framework fully extending minimum wage provisions across the EU. Read more

 

# Promote further tax harmonisation at EU level, e.g. through harmonised tax bases and reinforced cooperation for taxation of enterprises, property, inheritance and capital yield. Read more

 

# Make sure that an updated VAT Directive includes tax exemptions for certain activities of general interest as well as reduced tax rates for necessities such as food. Read more

 

# Through the European Social Fund , support the creation of accompanying measures for the long-term unemployed for their successful integration into ordinary work. Read more

This Parliamentary Committee is mainly responsible for the economic and monetary policies of the EU, the free movement of capital, taxation as well as the regulation and supervision of financial services, institutions and markets.
